    Good morning Jared and team,

When you get a chance, I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction as to how to sort out the following error message I’m receiving when trying to reactivate the plugin – see here:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: require_once(/var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/wp-mail-smtp.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/wp_mail_smtp.php on line 150

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/wp-mail-smtp.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/remi/php71/root/usr/share/pear:/opt/remi/php71/root/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php’) in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/wp_mail_smtp.php on line 150

Bit of a strange one, as all was well with the site, with no issues – then I got an email in saying the plugin was causing issues with this particular site. All seems to be working on my other sites that use the add on as far as I can tell.

Many thanks in advance for any guidance,

    Darron

  • Hi Darron,

I apologize but it seems your WordPress installation is unable to open and load the required files. This is usually caused due to the file and directory permission. Please follow this tutorial to fix the issue.

    I hope this helps!
