• Hello, I recently installed the plug-in GD Star Rating to try and get some feedback from my readers on the quality of the content posted to my blog.

However, when I try to activate the plug-in, I get this message:

“Plug in could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home1/andybarl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gd-star-rating/code/t2/render.php on line 1271″

I get a similar “fatal error” message when I try to upgrade any of my existing plug ins, like this:

“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home1/andybarl/public_html/wp-admin/menu-header.php on line 90”

Can someone help me interpret so I can begin to see how I might overcome these fatal errors?

Now I’m getting more and more “Allowed memory size…exhausted…” messages for multiple plug ins.

I didn’t realize it, but I had several themes installed to that directory. Thinking things like that & old or unused plug ins might be the culprit, I removed everything from those directories (plug ins and themes) that wasn’t currently in use.

The big question I have now is this: What is the cause of this fatal error and how can I fix it?
