    Hi,
I keep getting this error when i sign into my wordpress login…

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Wickett_Twitter_Widget in /home/content/23/7807823/html/main/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/widgets/twitter-widget.php on line 274

I have very basic website knowledge, however, I have signed in via FTP and set the plugin folder to “.hold” it didn’t resolve the issue.

So i aslo went in via FTP and deleted the “twitter widget” under wicket. I wasn’t using it anyway.

It still didn’t resolve the issue and i am still unable to login…please help…what do i do next? (and i will need some pretty easy “how to” instructions.

    Thanks in advance,
    Kim

    hope this works…

    Yes that worked.

I need a screenshot of https://yoursite.com/wp-admin/plugins.php (replace yoursite.com with your actual site).

    Okay that looks good too.

Now what happens after you try to login?

Do you still see that error (or any other error)?

If you do, please send a screenshot of the entire page where you get any errors.

    Oh my gosh! i’m in!

What do i do now to make sure i’m not blocked out again?

    Sounds good!

Now you can create a new folder, plugins under wp-content (where you already have pluginsOLD).

Copy each folder that’s inside of pluginsOLD to the new plugins folder one-by-one, and check for any errors each time you do that.

This way, you’ll figure out which plugin is causing that error.

    Good luck

    Thank you so much!

I create the new folder through the ftp backend correct? not my dashboard right?

    Yes FTP.

Now my regular login page is still giving the original error. Is that what you would expect? When will that go back to normal and allow me to sign in?

And you said to add the old plugins to the new folder one by one, i get that, but how and where do i check for errors each time i add a new plugin?

How many plugins did you move to the new plugins folder?

    Thread Starter kcoffin

    (@kcoffin)

I haven’t moved any yet.. or created a new plugin folder…just wanted to make sure i had it straight before i went ahead

well, i have it working and i loaded a plugin from my dashboard no problem and no errors.

but now i want to load one of my old plugins from my “pluginHOLD” file via FTP to my new plugin folder. how do you move one plugin to the next? I am unable to see the new plugin folder once i am in the old “pluginHOLD”
