Fatal error when try to activate Nextgen Gallery plugin

Hi all,
I get the following fatal error when I tried to activate the NextGen gallery plugin:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_get_server_info() in /home/jdavidson/ultimateride.ca/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/admin/install.php on line 43
Any suggestions on how to fix this? I’m afraid I’m not too technically capable, so please keep this in mind when you reply.
