    Hello,

I’m using WordPress on AWS (Built from a AWS image of Ubuntu 16.04), and I tried to activate the plugin, but received the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare GuzzleHttp\uri_template() (previously declared in /var/www/html/[SITE-NAME]/wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/includes/vendor/guzzlehttp/guzzle/src/functions.php:17) in /var/www/html/[SITE-NAME]/wp-content/plugins/amazon-polly/vendor/aws/GuzzleHttp/functions.php on line 31

This plugin doesn’t seem to get along with the WP-Statistics plugin. Please help and thank you!

    Jake

  • I’m getting a fatal error as well.

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /[path]/class-amazonpolly-admin.php on line 436

    I don’t have the WP-Statistics plugin.

Fatal Error too after clicking Activate??

Yes, it installs fine, the error just appears on activation and prevents the plugin from activating.

Thank you for the reports! We’re digging in and will reach-out to the WP-Statistics team if necessary once we identify the conflict. Otherwise, stay tuned and keep an eye on your update notifications ??

    Error when activating:

    S3CF_Stream_Wrapper::register(Aws\S3\S3Client $client, $protocol = ‘s3’) should be compatible with Aws\S3\StreamWrapper::register(Aws\S3\S3ClientInterface $client, $protocol = ‘s3’, Aws\CacheInterface $cache = NULL) in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/amazon-s3-and-cloudfront/classes/as3cf-stream-wrapper.php on line 3

Same error, using IAM Role or credentials.

    WP 4.9.4

    Edit:
We tried disabling some plugins and find some incompatibilities as below:

We use the Amazon Web Services plugin, by Delicious Brains which is used by their WP Offload S3 Lite.

After disabling the Amazon Web Services plugin, the Polly worked.

WP Offload S3 Lite has been disabled as it requires the Amazon Web Services plugin. It appears to be installed already. Activate it now.
You can deactivate the WP Offload S3 Lite plugin to get rid of this notice.

    Hi,
Im using WordPress 4.9.4–en_AU and a theme with the following plugins
    Google Captcha (reCAPTCHA)
    Post Views Counter
    Social Login
    The Review Plugin
    Visual Sidebar Editor
    WP User Avatar
    WPBakery Page Builder
    Yoast SEO

Im getting the following error when trying to activate Amazon Polly
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /var/www/html/prodreviewnew/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/amazon-polly/admin/class-amazonpolly-admin.php on line 470

@danescra21 I was having the exact same error. I changed the PHP version from 5.4 to 5.5 and the activation ran without problems. Hope it helps.

    Hi All,

I was able to get to the bottom of this during the past week. I’ve made a pull request to the GitHub repository that should resolve most if not all of these plugin dependency conflicts. These changes should be making their way into the next point release over the next few days. Thank you for your patience.

    Hi guys,
Closing the topic, because based on latest test, new version of the plugin (1.0.5) is working properly with WP-Statistics plugin which was mentioned in first comment. If you will still have got any problems, please let us know.

    Cheers,
    Tomasz
