I previously had the Woocommerce plugin installed and activated, I don’t actually remember deactivating this but I have since tried to activate and I get a fatal error. I have trawled the net to find a solution to no avail.

I have enabled debugging and I have captured the log for the error, but I am unable to figure out exactly what is wrong.

I am the host of my site, so I would appreciate any assistance you can provide…

    Hi @garyburge08

Would you mind copying and pasting your System Status Report into this thread so that we can check for any red flags there? You can find this by going to WooCommerce > Status > System Status > Get System Report in your WP-Admin dashboard.

Also, this is usually due to an outdated or conflicting theme or plugin. Does the problem persist with just WooCommerce and a default theme active? For testing steps, please see: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-self-service-guide/

    Thanks!

I managed to fix this issue based on the information I provided in the debug log.

I deactivated Jetpack & OptinMonster and then I was able to activate woocommerce. I was then able to re-activate Jetpack & OptinMonster.

Just in case this helps anyone else out having the same issue. I have figured out that OptInMonster is the problem.

I deactivated WooCommerce again, leaving OptInMonster active, and tried to re-activate WooCommerce and received the fatal error.

Deactivated OptInMonster and then I was able to activate WooCommerce, followed by re-activating OptInMonster.
