Fatal Error when trying to automatically upgrade plugins

  • I am now getting the following error message when I try to update any of my plugins automatically:

    Fatal error: Cannot unset string offsets in /home/bigd/public_html/wp-admin/update.php on line 29

    Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it? Thank You!
