    Dear support,

    I just updated the plugin to 7.5.0 from 7.4.2 and I get a fatal error while doing this:

    2023-08-14T18:57:56+00:00 CRITICAL Uncaught Error: Failed opening required ‘/srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/includes/admin/class-wc-stripe-privacy.php’ (include_path=’/:.’) in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php:153 Stack trace: #0 /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php(140): WC_Stripe->init() #1 /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php(77): WC_Stripe->__construct() #2 /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php(681): WC_Stripe::get_instance() #3 /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php(703): woocommerce_gateway_stripe() #4 /wordpress/core/6.3/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): woocommerce_gateway_stripe_init(”) #5 /wordpress/core/6.3/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(334): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #6 /wordpress/core/6.3/wp-includes/plugin.php(517): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #7 /wordpress/core/6.3/wp-settings.php(495): do_action(‘plugins_loaded’) #8 /srv/htdocs/wp-config.php(80): require_once(‘/wordpress/core…’) #9 /wordpress/core/6.3/wp-load.php(55): require_once(‘/srv/htdocs/wp-…’) #10 /wordpress/core/6.3/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php(22): require_once(‘/wordpress/core…’) #11 {main} thrown in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php on line 153

    Firstly, how can i downgrade to 7.4.2. which did not give any fatal errors?

    Secondly, disabling and then re-activating the plugin does not reproduce the fatal error. My question is now: is it safe to use the plugin now? Will it work as intended?

    WordPress version: 6.3

    WooCommerce version 8.0.1

    Thank you in advance

    Hello @mabulaapp

    I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been experiencing after updating the plugin. Let’s try to address your concerns one by one.

    how can i downgrade to 7.4.2. which did not give any fatal errors?

    We don’t usually suggest downgrading to an older version, however, you certainly have two ways to do it:

    • You can deactivate and delete the current version, download the older version from the www.ads-software.com plugin repository and reinstall it.
    • You can use a plugin like WP Rollback to downgrade any plugin to its older version.

    disabling and then re-activating the plugin does not reproduce the fatal error. My question is now: is it safe to use the plugin now? Will it work as intended?

    If disabling and reactivating the plugin does not reproduce the error, it’s likely that the error was a one-time issue possibly related to the update process.

    However, I recommend conducting a few test transactions to ensure everything is working as it should. If everything works as expected, then it should be safe to continue using the plugin.

    I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
