I updated Woocommerce Square to 2.0.5 from the plugin screen and now the WordPress backend/Admin of the web site is now a white screen (500 error). Can not access the Admin area for anything. The PHP error logs shows:
PHP Fatal error: Class ‘WC_Abstract_Privacy’ not found in ../wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-square/includes/Admin/Privacy.php on line 35

    Hi @freedomnet,

Sorry to hear about what happened! I checked this error message, and it means that Square is trying to load one of the required WooCommerce classes that was only added in WooCommerce 3.4 and newer. If you’re currently using WooCommerce version 3.3 or older, loading this class will fail with an error.

I’ve let our developers know about this problem so that they can add an alternative solution for users of previous WooCommerce versions.

In the meantime, you can follow the steps described in this document to deactivate Square over FTP or database so that you can access WP Admin area again:

    https://www.ostraining.com/blog/wordpress/disable-a-wordpress-plugin/

Once you do that, I’d recommend to either update to the latest WooCommerce version, or uninstall Square and install 2.0.4 again. You can download the 2.0.4 version package from here:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-square/advanced/

    Hope that helps!

    Hi there @freedomnet,

I wanted to let you know that a fix for the error you encountered will be included to the 2.0.6 version of Square.

Meanwhile, I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Cheers!
