    Happens during installation.
    In #irc last night, someone had this error, and Matt said it was a b0rked PHP installation on the host. The ABSPATH setting was wrong.
    This was correct, and once that was fixed, the WP install went fine.

  • Think that was me lastnight – I think the problem was related to my unix virtual server account – the ABSPATH variable was pointing somewhere else (this probably has to do with how my virtual server account php install is configured). Regardless, by coding the full url /virtual server account root/public html or www doc root/path where you have wordpress php/
    Unfortunately I had to change this path in most of the php scripts associated with wordpress. A bit tedious, but you’ll get it working.
