I am getting a Fatal Error at “Getting theme list from WordPress” – I went into settings and disabled theme and WordPress core checking, to see if it had to do with those settings. I saved those setting and then tried the scan again and it gave the exact same error.

That is definitely unusual — wp_get_themes() is a part of the WordPress core. Do you have any other security plugins installed, or any manual security measures, such as renaming core WordPress folders?

If you manually open /wp-includes/theme.php, do you see normal WordPress core code? There should be quite a few lines of comments in English, then the first function should be “wp_get_themes”.

Sounds about right. I just inherited this site. Ran Theme Check and it did catch a lot of issues. My next step was WordFence. I believe the previous developer must have changed the core files. I’m initiating a staging area for more testing, with a good theme.php file. Thanks for your response. I’ll open this back up if I need to.

Ok, thanks — if fixing the WordPres core files doesn’t fix it completely, just let us know.
