Started getting email messages about problems with this plugin more than two months ago, less than a month after installation. Initially I ignored them as I was trying out the plugin, particularly since the error messages seemed mostly (but not only) to be related to ajax. Logging out each evening from the admin view worked for a while, but now the problem is back, on a daily basis, regardless of whether i’m logged in or not. I can’t help but wonder if it’s the free version that’s screwed up on purpose (and I should add that I was about to actually pay for the upgrade but wanted first to confirm that it’s working as it’s supposed to), just to move everyone towards the upgrade, or if the developers are getting careless!

If it’s of help to you, here’s the actual error message:

    *******************************************

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, WP Visitor Statistics.

First, visit your website (https://www.XXXXX.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.XXXXX.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php) and check for any visible issues.

    *******************************************

Although this is the most common message I get, a couple of times the error was reported to be with (https://www.XXXXX.com/wp-login.php), but all of them are supposed to be related to the WP Visitor Statistics plugin.

    Cheers

    Hi @danrayne
    Thank you for the details,

I just published new updates (without new version), please remove the current plugin and install it again,

hope that this will fix the issue
    please let me know

    Thanks!

I’ve got two questions relating to reinstalling/updates?

    1. If I remove the plugin and reinstall it, is there any way to save the stats?
    2. If the fix works I will upgrade to the full version. Will the upgrade keep the stats?

    Plugin Author osama.esh

    (@osamaesh)

    hello,
    yes sure,
but before removing the plugin, please go to plugin settings tab > General settings > Keep data after uninstalling the plugin (should be checked to save your data)
