• Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in C:\php\wordpress\wp-content\themes\Avada\author.php on line 1

I am getting this error again and again on my site. Installing the WooCommerce plugin in my theme seems to have triggered this but so far the only fix I get is reinstalling my theme, or disabling the plugin. Can I not use Woo with Avada? Avada has Woo “built in.” Can someone please let me know at least specifically what is going wrong here? I have no idea. Any help is appreciated.

Interesting follow up, once I reinstall the theme, everything works for a while (hours, a day tops) and then I get the same error, without any other changes having been made. Please help!

That is a pretty strange error, as get_header() is a core WordPress function and is being called on every template.

You’ll need to contact the theme authors about this – as WooCommerce is likely uninvolved here.

Thank you very much. It is especially strange because our theme, Avada, has the Woo plugin “out of the box” if you will and it only need to be enabled.

Avada came with WooCommerce installed in it? That doesn’t sound right. Bundling plugins in a theme is a very bad practice, wasn’t aware Avada was doing that.

This causes bundled plugins to fall out of date, etc.
