    Hi
    Until a while ago the fac icon was appearing near the google search results.
    It suddenly stopped. What I did until now:
    1) remove the icon from wp.
    2) Reloaded a new file to wp
    3) The same in the plugin.

    Still, the icon is not appearing.

    Thanks!

  • For me my featured homepage image is missing in the mobile Google SERPS since I updated to the last version. Now there is a light grey pic with the first letter of the domainname.

    How to fix this?

    @erezspeiser Can you please confirm you are using the most recent Yoast v14.1? You can learn more about updating here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

    Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.4.1? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/

    ?If you update to the most current version of WordPress and Yoast SEO, does this resolve the issue?

    @marco69 Please create a new issue if you are experiencing a similar problem as this helps us in tracking as this can be caused by many different variables (WordPress version, other plugins, etc).

    The version of WordPress was 5.4.1
    The version of Yoast was 14.0.4
    I updated it to 14.1, but the problem is not solved.

    Waiting for your solution.

    Thanks

    Can you please confirm whether you’re not seeing the favicon for your site in the Google mobile search results or in the desktop search results?

    Please note that Google introduced the favicon in the desktop search results as an experimental feature and it was reverted back.

    That said, we have tested the homepage https://hike-israel.com of your website in the search results and can see that Google mobile search results isn’t showing the favicon.

    We see the homepage includes the following favicon meta and these are valid:

    <link rel="icon" href="https://i2.wp.com/hike-israel.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cropped-Logo-Square.jpg?fit=32%2C32&ssl=1" sizes="32x32">
    <link rel="icon" href="https://i2.wp.com/hike-israel.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cropped-Logo-Square.jpg?fit=192%2C192&ssl=1" sizes="192x192">
    <link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="https://i2.wp.com/hike-israel.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cropped-Logo-Square.jpg?fit=180%2C180&ssl=1">

    However, Google recommends to have the 48x48px, 96x96px, 144x144px and so on favicon sizes. You can find the Google guidelines for favicon here and make sure that your site has the same implementation.

    On the other hand, we can confirm that Yoast SEO is generating all the schema markup and as well as the SEO meta correctly as expected and there’s nothing in Yoast SEO plugin that is preventing Google to show the favicon in the mobile search results for your site.

    HI,
    1) I am referring?only to mobile?SERP.
    2) I updated the icon file to the recommended resolution.
    3) It still does not appear…
    4) I also noticed that on Google Search Console there is no entry under the Enhaments==>Logos section. In the past there use to one entry. I don’t know if it is connected.

    How do we continue?
    Thanks!

    @erezspeiser

    We are not sure why Google is failing to show the icon in the mobile SERP. We only know that the right data is being generated. We suggest contacting Google for more information. You may?contact Google by making a post on their forums:?https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters.

    Same with Logo. We can see Yoast is outputting correctly the logo: https://i0.wp.com/hike-israel.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Logo-Square-96-2.png?fit=96%2C96&ssl=1 in the source code. See image: https://pasteboard.co/JancHc6.png

    We are not sure why Google fails to show it in the Enhancements section. We can only say to contact Google for more information.
