    Hello everyone,

I am not sure this is the right category to post this…

I’m using WordPress 4.0.1 with Buzzblog theme. For some reason, my blog favicon isn’t working in the front-end (I have it in the back-end, which is even weirder).

The theme offers an option to display a favicon, I tried that, no favicon.

I downloaded All in one Favicon. No favicon (except, as I said before, for the back-end).

I tried to look around for some code to input directly in the editor. No favicon.

I am still getting the default Hostgator favicon.

Any idea why that might be? Is there a script somewhere that keeps my favicon from showing?

    Thank you very much.

  • Add a favicon.ico to the root public_html directory. No need for a plugin. Clear your browser cache, too.

You’re using a premium/paid theme, so if the theme options don’t work, it’s best to go to the support site where you bought the theme – https://themeforest.net/ – for help with customizations and issues. You paid for support when you bought the theme, so you should contact the people who sold you the theme.

These forums are for free themes available in the WordPress theme directory at https://www.ads-software.com/themes/. See https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Commercial_Products

try uploading the favicon file to your root directory on your hosting and overwriting the hostgator one. that way it’s non-theme specific.

remember to clear the browser’s cache and refresh the page to see if the changes have happened.

    Thanks Jack and songdotech ??

I have sent about 10 emails in the past 2 weeks to the guy who developed my theme. I got once an answer saying “please send me your login and password and I’ll check it out”, which I did, after that the guy disappeared into thin air again. I have gotten way more support from people on this forum with the issues I’ve been having than from this guy.

I will try uploading the favicon file to my root directory, thanks ??

Doing that trick didn’t work… The default Hostgator icon still shows. I’ll try harassing the theme maker again because it’s definitely an issue with the theme (if I change themes the favicon shows normally).
