Favicon Conflict

  • My favicon.ico started not showing up, and the console was showing a 404.

    Some meticulous troubleshooting narrowed it down to this plugin being the culprit. More specifically, this plugin doesn’t affect it by itself, but script code inserted into the header makes the favicon 404.

    In fact, it can be any text in that field, even a single character, and it only affects the header field, not the body or footer fields. My solution for now has been to put my dev’s script in the footer, but I’m concerned that the dev put it in the header for a reason.

    I am currently using WP Astra and the WordPress Customizer to set the favicon.

    I noticed an old request of this same nature that was unresolved. Any help this time around? Thanks!
