Favicon does not appear

  • I added a 512×512 pixel jpg image via Site Identity / Site Icon. The image appears just fine there. But the image does not appear as a favicon in any browser (Firefox, IE, or Chrome).

    I looked at the page source of the site and found this code in the head section:

    <link rel=”icon” href=”http:…[path]…-32×32.png” sizes=”32×32″ />
    <link rel=”icon” href=”http:…[path]…192×192.png” sizes=”192×192″ />
    <link rel=”apple-touch-icon-precomposed” href=”http…[path]…-180×180.png”>
    <meta name=”msapplication-TileImage” content=”http…[path]…-270×270.png”>

    All those image files display in a browser using those paths.
