    Hello,

We are using the Masterstudy starter theme. We changed the site icon in the theme customization options, however the Masterstudy favicon.png still loads and shows in the browser tab. If you open the browser’s dev tools, it appears the browser actually loads both images (our site icon and Masterstudy’s). When the site is open to the WordPress administration screens, our site icon shows correctly in the tab.

How do we enable our favicon to display?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  • Hello @andrew1111,

Thank you for reaching out to us and sorry for the delay in reply!

Kindly, note that with the latest versions of the theme and LMS plugins, you should not face such issue.

However, when I opened your website on browser, favicon loaded normally. [screenshot]

I think it was a cache related issue. Please, let me know otherwise.

    Hi David,

Thanks for your response. I should have specified the display issue occurs in Firefox. This link shows FF displaying the Masterstudy icon in the browser tab, rather than the theme’s configured icon:

Both FF and Chrome download both icons, however typically in a different order. It may be a case of where the last one downloaded is used. See these screenshots of the network tab in the browser, showing both Chrome and FF downloading both icons.

The additional download of the Masterstudy favicon is unnecessary.

    Thanks,

    Hi @andrew1111,

Kindly, note that such issue may occur either due to the cache or incorrect SSL configuration.

Here you can see that in our local environment, custom favicon is being displayed on Firefox browser. [screenshot]

Moreover, when I checked your site on Firefox, your custom favicon was there. [screenshot]

    Please, recheck your caching settings.
