How do I get my Yoast SEO to include my site’s favicon URL in the the sitemap.xml file? I’ve added favicon.ico to my root directory.

Do I have to add additional code (to the header.php of my theme (Divi)?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello @panflat2694

Thanks for reaching out about your favicon. Only images attached to a content type, such as posts, pages or products, are included in the sitemap. You will see the number of images associated with the content type in the image column in the sitemap. See screenshot.

Since your favicon is not connected to any content type, you cannot add it to the sitemap.

    Hello Maybellyne,

thank you for your answer. Ok, I got it ??

Don’t know why those kind of “instructions” are given on the Microsoft support pages?

This wouldn’t be an issue, if the favicons of the sites I run would be rendered correctly on Bing. IMO I’ve done everything right (thanks to the Yoast SEO plugin ?? ).

I’m running out of ideas now. Maybe I should just wait and hope, that in the near future they show up.

    Cheers

    Stefan
