    Hello

I’m struggling with my posts to Facebook: when I post via WP to Buffer, with tags {title} {url}, the result is a photo posted with title and url IN THE DESCRIPTION, not a regular blog post I get when I post manually or post via Web in Buffer.

    Please see the attached screenshot.

I don’t want picture posts, I want posts with preview of my web page’s article.

    Hi,

Use {url} only, with no other text or tags in the status.

    Thank you for your answer.
I’ll try and get back to you.

Is it the same with Twitter?
Also, is there a way to post an excerpt along with the link? But link as post, with preview.

It should be the same for Twitter, provided that you’ve got OpenGraph metadata set on the Post correctly.

To post an excerpt with the link as a Post, you’d need to use the Pro version.

I’ve just tried, according to your advice, to use just {url} in WP to Buffer settings and it’s still a picture post with a link in the description.

Take a look at the Buffer settings:

    And Buffer queue:

You can clearly see the difference between the last post, which is a picture post, posted bu WP to Buffer and the post above, which is a link as post.

The same thing happens with Twitter.

Noted and understood. The Pro version would be required for the functionality that you require.

    Thanks!

    Ok, thank you

@inside83 did that actually resolve it? I don’t want to pay for a license if that isn’t the confirmed fix.

    @mikerev
I did but by using Social Auto Poster
    https://wpweb.co.in/product/social-auto-poster/
You can set it up to post to FB and other social networks directly or to post to Buffer and then from buffer to social networks.
It works great, you can even set up custom message above the actual post, different from the post headline.
I also didn’t want to buy something that isn’t confirmed. As you can see, they don’t even know their own plugin’s features.
