I have created my first feed seemingly without issues, but when trying to import it into facebook, get the following error:

Products without “override” information can’t be uploaded. Please check that this field is included for each product in a separate, labeled column.

As far as I can see, there is no override nor language nor country column in my Woocommerce attribute list nor is there an override option in the FB pre-populated list when creating the feed.

When trying to create an Override attribute in the FB attributes list and map it to something like “US” according to these instructions https://www.facebook.com/business/help/2144286692311411?helpref=faq_content
the created Override attribute (via Add Custom Field) and the attribute in the WooCommerce list (Static Value) get created on two separate lines. Not sure if the separate lines issue is related to the original problem of FB having an override issue though.

  • Hi Mis_tral,

Thanks for reaching out to us about the ‘override’ field. Our plugin only supported the creation of so-called Facebook base catalog feeds and not country or language override feeds.

Now, we did see the added value of adding the override field to the Facebook template so we just did and pushed out a new release of the plugin (version 4.2.6). So please upgrade the plugin in order to be able to use this new field.

We have also written a small tutorial on how to create a country or language override feed: https://adtribes.io/how-to-create-facebook-country-and-language-override-feeds/

    Hope this helps?

    All the best,
    Eva

    Hello,

Thanks, you guys are awesome for reacting so quickly! However, I’m afraid I still have bad news. The good news is that creating the Override and Country Code on two separate lines issue seems to be solved after the update.

But when using the new Override feature (and the code “US” in the Woocommerce column, entered as a static value), I still keep getting the exact same error: “A required field is missing: override
Products without “override” information can’t be uploaded. Please check that this field is included for each product in a separate, labeled column.”

When creating a new static custom field myself, entering “override” in the FB column and “US” in the Woocemmerce column, the error I get when trying to upload the feed is “This item has an override value that could not be recognised. For country overrides use the ISO codes and for language overrides use locales.”

    Hi,

I am not sure if I understand correct. You succeeded in creating an override country feed like on the Facebook help-pages and the CSV feed does indeed contain an override column with the US value in it? That should work.

Do the id’s in the override feed match with the id’s from your base feed?

    All the best,
    Eva

Thanks again for replying so quickly!

Hmm…Do I need a base feed AND an override feed? All I want to do is to create just a feed from my WordPress multi-site setup’s one site (with WooCommerce) to the Facebook shop. I don’t even understand why the whole override issue arises, as the feed is US (from a US-based shop, the URL contains US, the prices are in USD, and the business address is in the US) and the Facebook shop is set up as US with a US address and tax ID.

Also, another detail that may be helpful (?) is that when I activate the Product Feed Pro plugin from the WordPress network site, when trying to access the feed settings, the page just goes blank and no settings are accessible. I need to deactivate it from the network site and activate it only for the one site I’m working with in order for the plugin to work as expected.

    Hi,

Yes as far as we understand the ‘override’ column is only needed when you are using the same catalog feed to advertise in multiple countries for multiple languages. When you are only advertising in the US for just one language you do not need the override column at all.

Somehow Facebook thinks you are trying to upload a secondary feed next to your base feed. Could it be you have uploaded more feeds already? If so, Facebook might actually think you are adding a country or language feed as there is an existing base feed in place already.

In any case, in Facebook I deleted the first feed I tried to create with Product Feed Pro and followed all the steps to create a secondary feed. But the errors persist and even new errors have appeared (product ID):

Some products or properties were rejected because of the following:
No existent item with current id: id
This secondary feed is trying to update an item that doesn’t exist inside the catalog.
    Invalid override: override
This item has an override value that could not be recognised. For country overrides use the ISO codes and for language overrides use locales.

I am using the US ISO code and selected the first option for a secondary feed: country. I had manually entered some items in the FB catalog, maybe this is why FB thinks it’s a secondary feed? Yet I don’t want to delete these either in case I never get the feed thing to work.

    Hi Mis_Tral,

I am afraid this requires the help of a Facebook rep. Do you have an account manager or did you reach out to them already asking them what exactly is wrong?

    Best,
    Eva

    Hi Mis_Tral,

Did you contact Facebook and were they able to identify what was wrong?

Assuming you no longer need our help on this issue we are going to close it for housekeeping reasons.

Please feel free to reach out again whenever you have a question or need help.

    All the best,
    Eva
