Same error. I got error: “Something went wrong when connecting to facebook!
    Please try again.”

I’m having the same issue. The “fixes” I’m finding aren’t helping. What I think is the problem is that the Pixel embedded in the site is not the correct one FB is looking for, so the error kicks out. What I “think” the solution is is to manually replace the Pixel ID across the site as changing it within the Settings of the Facebook for Woo plugin is not working. Instructions that say that’s easily done date back to 2020 and the current version has no option for that. I’m about to embark on a lovely “Find and replace” and manually put in the Pixel ID I THINK FB is seeking vs the one that is in there now.

    Howdy @moabmedia, @ngocducqtk32, and @seanpmc69,

One of the most common reasons for this error is when two-factor authentication (2FA) is not enabled on the Facebook account. When connecting a Facebook Page or account to a third-party application, like WooCommerce, 2FA is required by Facebook.com.

Y’all can find more information about this requirement at the following link:

    https://www.facebook.com/help/148233965247823/

Additionally, having non-Latin characters in the wc_facebook_external_business_id can also cause this error. I see that @moabmedia’s ID does not appear to be affected by this, but this is worth looking into for anyone else who may have 2FA enabled and is still experiencing this issue.

More information about the wc_facebook_external_business_id and how it can impact this error can be found at the following link:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/facebook-for-woocommerce/troubleshooting-connection-errors/#something-went-wrong-when-connecting-to-facebook-cause-nonlatin-based-characters

    I hope this helps!

2FA is on for myself, has been so don’t think that’s it. I just tried re-connecting to the older Pixel and still get the “Something went wrong” error. Frustrating stuff!

    Thanks @csmcneill

It was those gal dang non-latin characters, had to crack open the DB and fix it there as it wasn’t fixing in the options.php page.

Glad to know everything is working now @seanpmc69 !

If the problem still persists @moabmedia and @ngocducqtk32 please feel free to open a new post so we can troubleshoot this further.

    @nathvi the problem still exists.

2fa is active and i’m trying to re-connect many times.

    Hi @moabmedia!

Can you try again the next steps?

    1 .Surf to https://<your-site>/wp-admin/options.php.
    2. Search for wc_facebook_external_business_id.
    3. Update field to include only supported characters and save (best practice: store-name-dfsdc3lck9k6q ← 13-digit random string)
    4. Go back to WooCommerce > Facebook and click “Get Started” again.

Please keep in mind that the ‘wc_facebook_external_business_id’ WordPress option **cannot be blank or contain non-Latin characters**.`

Let us know how it goes!
