• I installed the pixel using this plugin, if i test the events (page view and view content) they work, but the meta pixe helper says: “Pixel Helper found your Meta Pixel, but the pixel has not been activated for this event and no information has been sent to Meta.” I tried to deactivate all pluigins but no luck. PHP version is ok. If I inspect the page, i see that there is an error on how the plugin has implemented the pixel code:

(index):195 Uncaught ReferenceError: fbq is not defined
    at (index):195:13
(index):197 Uncaught ReferenceError: fbq is not defined
    at (index):197:40
(index):200 Uncaught ReferenceError: fbq is not defined
    at (index):200:5

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, it looks like your cookie consent plugin may be blocking the cookies from being sent/saved.

Can you temporarily disable the plugin and try to reconnect the plugin to Facebook?

    Best,
    Marko

Thank you Iodic, I also thought it might be Iubenda, but I had already tried deactivating iubenda as indicated, but to no avail. I tried again, just in case.
I also tried deactivating all plugins except “Meta pixel for WordPress”, but I always got an error.
I also tried to create a new pixel, to reinstall the plugin, delete cache, temporary files etc, but no luck.

    Hi again,

Thank you for replying. I am no longer seeing the issue while browsing the site — did you make any changes?

    Best,
    Marko

No changes on my side. But the “page view” doesn’t work. The error says the pixel is unavailable, which is not true.

    Hello,

The cookie policy needs to be accepted first for the events to be recorded. Once it is accepted, the PageView event will fire:

    pixel-event.png

Also, please disable ad-blockers if you are using them.

Let us know if you are seeing the event now, or are in need of further assistance.

    Kind regards,
    Marija

@marijastuntcoders the pixel-event.png is not displayed. Could you repost it?

Thanks for the update, but even if I accept the privacy policy, page view doesn’t work. On Chrome i don’t use Ad Blockers. I also tried completely uninstalling the privacy plugin and disabling all other plugins except the meta one and it doesn’t work. The plugin indicates that the pixel is not available, when in fact it is. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you very much.

Hi, here is the link to the image i posted: https://ibb.co/Wv18YYZF

As we mentioned, our tests show that the Pixel is working and tracking events properly once the Cookies are accepted – here is a?demo.

Can you confirm that the issue persists for you even in an incognito window?

    Kind regards,
    Marija

Hi @lespattes , just wanted to follow up and check if you are still having issues with the plugin, and if you have tried checking the Pixel and events when using an incognito window?

    Kind regards,
    Marija

Hi @marijastuntcoders thank you for your patience. I still have issues with the plugins. I tried to check the pixel and invents using an incognito window, both on mac and pc, in different locations (different IP’s) and still see the same error. I don’t see something similar to the image you posted here:?https://ibb.co/Wv18YYZF. I also asked other friends and they see the same error.

Of course the cookies were accepted, and browsers had also thier cache cleaned and also tried with a clean DNS cache.

Hi @lespattes! While testing the site with a VPN turned on, we have seen the issue you are seeing if we set the location to Italy or Austria. ??

Could it be that your page is restricted by country or region?

If you go to your Facebook Page and click on “Settings”, select “General” from the left sidebar, and find “Country Restrictions”. You can click “Edit” next to Country Restrictions to see if there are any in place.

    Looking forward to your update.

    Best,
    Marko

Hi Marko! At least the problem is not connected to how the pixel was implemented.
I see no restrictions in the page.

But iIwent to “Page setup” and “Data sharing” was off. I switched it back on (i never changed it and until January as far as I can remember the pixel helper showed the pixel with no errors.) I do have a restriction on the pixel, since it’s a doctor website (he doesn’t sell anything, just an informative blog and contact page) but standard events as page view and view content should work anyway.

    The warning says:

    • In the European Region, data sharing may be blocked. (So, should I deactivate it from my page?)
    • In other locations, certain standard events may be blocked and your website or app may be in a core setup.

But there is no details to what is actually blocked. So if I go in the pixel Events Manager, in Settings, Manage Events blocking, Page View and View Content are not blocked. And in the overview i see that page view and view content are working.

There must be somtehing wrong with how these “blocked events” are interpreted, maybe by the pixel helper. If I use another chrome plugin, Meta Pixel Validator, I see page view and view page working.

Hi, thank you for sharing the details!

It appears that the restrictions are happening because?of some setup or issues on the Facebook account; your best next step is to reach out to?Meta Direct support?so that they can check it out and assist you further. They can look into the page and pixel setup and give you answers about the blocking which is in place.

I hope they can give a fast resolution to this issue.

    Best,
    Marko

Hi Marko, thank you for your reply. I already reach out to Meta direct support and the setup was correct. So they asked me to reach out to you. What I cannot understand is if the error that the pixel helper shows is real, since the pixel validators shows the events or if its the WordPress plugin that is not updated to the latest requirements that meta applied to the pixel and then interprets them as errors.

    (@iodic)

Hi again, one of the main reasons I mentioned contacting Meta support is that they may not have been aware that the issues you have been experiencing are determined by the user’s location.

We will double check if this can be mitigated from the side of the website and get back to you.
