• Hello support team

I noticed a new issue regarding the main “title” photo” of my posts in the ColorMag theme. Allthough I upload quality photos they got reduced to 800×445 and then look blurry and pixeled on a big screen.

Is there soemthing I can do to get a better image resolution for the most important images in the posts? All other images in the posts are still good.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hi @dakricke,

Please go through this documentation: https://docs.themegrill.com/colormag/docs/recommended-image-sizes/ and use the recommended image size on your site. If you upload a large image, the theme will automatically resize it.

Also, you can use any online tools to crop the image to the recommended size without losing its quality, and then you can upload the image on your site.

    Dear Amrit

Thank you very much for your answer. I allready tried the recommended image sizes and different resolutions but whatever I try, the images looks blurry. That only happens on the “featured image” on top of the posts, all other images look good.

Could you maybe have a look at my website to confirm that its not a bug.

    Hi @dakricke,

We have checked both of your posts and found that the https://www.ausflügelanzarote.de/thema/aktiv-ausfluege-auf-lanzarote/wandern/ is a little bit clearer than the other image because the similar recommended image size.

The third-party optimization plugin used on your site may also reduce the image quality. We recommend you check by deactivating all your third-party plugins used to minify or compress resources and installing a regenerate thumbnail plugin on your site. Regenerate all the thumbnails and check your single post page images. If you find all the images showing clearly, we recommend using another alternative third-party plugin to minimize the images and resources.

    Regards!

    Hey,
is it possible to get bigger resolutions on bigger screens?
I also noticed that the standard size is not always perfect and looks very blurry on big screens. When i remove the cropped version and insert the standard image everything looks crisp and clear.

For example my main image gets shown in the resolution 800×445, while my screen shows the image in an container that is 880x490px. It gets worse with smaller images.
