I am creating posts programmatically from api. I am able to populate featured image from URL field automatically. But it does not setup featured image until I manually edit the post and click on Update.

    Kindly see the screenshot https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qPmdSTR8ecg0Th6P1aI5xfA_MKpi5QnA/view?usp=sharing

You can see in above screenshot, featured image from URL is already setup but it did not setup the main featured image automatically.

Also I tried the bulk editing feature of WordPress by bulk updating the posts that have featured images from URL populated but it does not update the featured image. The only way I have is edit the single post manually and then click update then it sets the featured image.

The issue is I have to populate hundreds of posts and in this way I have to manually click on Update button by editing each single post.

    Any solution would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi, @waqasnu1.

Please access FIFU > Status. Copy and send me the data.

    Thanks, @waqasnu1.

You’re using the free version, so it won’t work. The integration with the WP/WC REST API is only available in the PRO version.

    Hi Marcel,

OK got it, your plugin pro version is surely worth a buy. It is nice plugin.

But mainly my question is something different, I do not think the pro version will help.

So here is the question, why bulk updating the posts using bulk edit feature of Worpdfresss do not set the feature image if the field of FIFU already has the image URL. Why do we have to manually edit the post and click update or publish etc to get the featured image of the Worpdress post setup?

    THanks

why bulk updating the posts using bulk edit feature of Worpdfresss do not set the feature image if the field of FIFU already has the image URL

Because FIFU is not integrated with WordPress bulk edit. FIFU has it’s own edition column.

Why do we have to manually edit the post and click update or publish etc to get the featured image of the Worpdress post setup?

I told you. Because you are using our free version. You are able to set the custom fields programmatically, but that’s NOT enough to display a featured image in WordPress. A lot of metadata needs to be generated in the database. By the forum rules, I’m not allowed to discuss PRO features here, but it will create the required metadata.

So you mean pro version will be able to setup the featured image automatically? And using the bulk edit option also?

Yes. FIFU saves your image URL and creates all the metadata necessary to display the images to the visitors. No additional steps are required.

And using the bulk edit option also?

FIFU has a quick edition column: click on the image, ctrl+v, enter. Done.

OK all good, that answered my question. Will like to get pro.
