    Hi there,
I’ve been battling this for a while, the solution is probably right infront of me, maybe you can help?

My webcomic site, https://www.OopsComicAdventure.com, uses the WordPress theme ComicPress on the main site for the PC, and I have the plug-in “Any Mobile Theme Switcher” to switch the theme to Comic Easel for all mobile devices, since ComicPress and JetPack don’t seem to work well together. (so I’ve read on other support thread posts) I’ve also tried it with “Any Mobile Theme Switcher” deactivated and still get the same issue.

In JetPack’s Mobile Theme settings, I have “Show full posts on front page and on archive pages” and “Display featured images” check on, however, when I test my site on my smart phone, I don’t see the featured images/my comic pages on any of the pages. I can see them if I do a search on the mobile site for like, “Page12”, it’ll show images of featured images in the search results.

Do you have any advice on how to get the Featured Images to show on the pages of my webcomic site?

I’ve done more poking, prodding, and testing and have found out that Jetpack isn’t recognizing my “comic posts” as wordpress “posts”. I did a test post through wordpress’s default post settings, not through Comicpress’s Add New Comic post, and that work with Jetpack, the feature images displayed through the WordPress post. Since all my posts are through Comicpress’s comic post system, is there a way to set it where Jetpack recognized the comic posts as posts so my comic feature images will display?

Hmmm… Scratch that. I found the plugin “Post Types Switcher” and tested switching a comic page post to a wordpress post. It works in the sense that the page shows up on the mobile site, however, the page like that is more like a blog post on the main PC site.

Is there just a way to get Jetpack to recognize my Comic Post? Currently, my mobile site says I have no pages despite that I have 110 Comic Posts.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I’m afraid that won’t be possible. Jetpack’s Mobile Theme was built to display posts only, and not posts from other Post Types, like Comics.

According to its author, Comic Easel is mobile compatible, so if you were to choose a responsive theme, it should be displayed properly on mobile devices as well.

    I hope this helps.

Hmmm, I see. I was afraid of that. Do you happen to know if all Comic themes like Inkblot, are also don’t work with Jetpack? Or is there a list of themes that should be avoided with Jetpack?

Jetpack offers so much beyond just mobile compatibilities, I’d hate to have to abandon it.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Jetpack’s Mobile Theme wasn’t built to handle sites where custom post types are the default post type, I’m afraid.

I’d recommend that you look for a responsive comic theme instead: you will then have a great look on both desktop and mobile, and you’ll be able to continue to use Jetpack while deactivating only the mobile theme, under Jetpack > Settings in your dashboard.

You could ask the Comic Easel plugin author for recommendations here:

They might know of themes that are responsive and work well with their plugin.

Thanks so much for your help. ??

Yes, I’ve also posted to the Comicpress theme support forum and I’m waiting to hear back if they have any suggestions. The author of the Comic Easel plugin also made Comicpress, Frumph, so maybe that he’ll be able to help too.

    Thanks
