feature images display on edin theme

Hello,

Please can you give advise how to achieve the following:

1. I want to use the latest (only latest) blog post to display on the front page.
But on the blog page I want the latest 10 posts to appear. Unfortunately I can only find the option “Blog pages show at most” in Settings/Reading. So if set to 10 it automatically produces them on the front page. How can I achieve that to display only the latest post on the front page, but all on the blog page.

2. Another problem is that I want to have an image along with latest post for the front page (because this is going to be an artist’s site). But if I set a feature image for the post, then this appears not only on the front page as wanted, but also on the post itself. There is no way to turn feature image display off for the posts, which was possible in the edin.com theme.

3. The content option is a very essential functionality , not available on edin.org theme. Could you please advise how to overcome that problem.
