• Hello Jeremy. In the description you ask the users to propose what kind of features we want to see implemented? Well, this is a long missed feature: I want to see the same features as of Steven Lambert’s JetPack Post Views, which is not receiving updates since 3 years ago, yet it works: https://es.www.ads-software.com/plugins/jetpack-post-views/

It allows to make the same as yours plus… and additional, sortable, entry in the posts list to see how many hits have every one received since ever created.

I can recall the only limitation for the mentioned plugin was the JetPack API, allowing to retrieve only 500 posts’ information. Thus, he even coded a scheduled task to inteligently cycle thru the post list to refresh the stats.

It’s important statistic data since it allows you to figure out the popularity of posts, because it’s a good complement to Google Analytics. Also because Google Analytics won’t ever tell you what posts received zero visits ??

Hope you can take this into consideration and dedicate some time to reutilize parts of the code from Steven’s plugin, which ultimately/unfortunately have becomed abandonware.

    Best regards
    Marcelo

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Thanks for the feedback! I took note of it here and I’ll see what I can do about it.

reutilize parts of the code from Steven’s plugin

I’m afraid that won’t be possible as my plugin uses the WordPress.com Stats API endpoints, while his plugin seems to use the old csv.php Stats API.

Ok, but surely you can take a modern approach with the actual API, hence develop a similar feature, which will enrich your plugin a lot ??

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Indeed, that’s why I logged your request in a GitHub issue. Whenever I iterate on this plugin again, I’ll consider adding this in.

Superb! I’ll be keeping an eye on it, willing to test it. ??
