That shows above the page header (I tried it). I want to show below the page header between the page header and the archive container as shown in the screenshot above (or this one where the arrows are not crossed https://prntscr.com/qd6swb).

Hmm, you could try the generate_archive_title hook with a later priority:

add_action( 'generate_archive_title', function() {
    // your code
}, 20 );

Other than that, it does look like another hook is required. I’ll take a look ??

That code disrupts the first post. So I think a hook is the better option.
