When reviewing blocked messages, it would be nice to be able to see the date when the message was submitted/created somewhere. Also, you can filter out g-recaptcha-response since *(I would guess) that long string is not of interest to anyone.

Finally, being able to download a CSV of all blocked messages, and then being able to select and clear them would be great too. Currently, I can only page through 10 messages at a time which takes a while to get through submissions.

    Thanks.

Additionally, like almost every other WordPress plugin and post list, it would be nice to have some options at the top of the ‘blocked messages’ page that would be accessible to choose which columns are viewable, and which are not, and how many records per page you would want to see.

    Hi.

Any update on this? Also, having a way to “recover” a wrongly trapped message would be good too. I think saving everything to a file will prevent this, so you may want to use the database and more standard WordPress functionality.

    Hello @efishinsea .
Messages will now be stored in a database. We are still testing the new version.

I see you new version (v 1.4.0) has some improvements, but it also seems to not allow a form to be submitted if it fails the filter test as the page just spins, which in itself is sort of confusing behavior.

If a legitimate sender wanted to submit something that might be on the filter list (like a link) their experience will be hard for them to figure out. And since you have eliminated the ability for error messages except for your paid version, it becomes a black hole.

Hello @efishinsea. Please can you share a video or screenshot if possible?

These forms use Ajax to post, so not sure if that is the issue or not. The forms simply never submit.

I do see on the backend that I have “17 Messages blocked today” but when I go to view the blocked messages, there are none.

Also, you might want to give a little padding on the right side of the “view messages” screen:

additionally, since the update, if you view OLD MESSAGES and attempt to Download those, it does nothing beyond opening a new tab which is blank.

Here is some more information that may help you fix this.

I did some testing on a few other sites where this plugin is, or is now used, and it seems that if I install this as a new plugin, or Deactivate and then Reactivate the plugin, then the problem described above goes away. So, if you can figure out what is *not being reset* with the plugin update to the new version and address that issue, it should resolve the problem.

Also, I think it would be very important to include the ability to “restore” a blocked message if it was blocked in error. Currently, you can only delete them, or download them, but if it could somehow be re-submitted to both send out the response to the intended recipient(s), and populate the databases that store form responses, whichever plugins those may be, that would be the best-case scenario as it would continue the expected workflow.

Okay. Thank you for your suggestions.
New messages are now stored in the database. the “17 messages” you have should be under the “Old messages” page. Did you check the old messages page?

Do your forms submit now, after reactivating the plugin?

    (@efishinsea)

yes, after manually deactivating and reactivating the plugin *after it is updated* the problems go away, but this is something that should be handled by the update.

ok. Thanks. I will check it out
