Feature request: Ability to connect record to a post, CPT or page

Good day,

I would like to be able to connect a post, CPT or page to a record from a certain table. It would be nice to be able to have a one to many and many to many option. For instance, one customer or product record is connected to multiple posts, CPTs and/or pages. Or multiple customers are connected to multiple posts, CPTs and/or pages.

Another use case would be to record the publication of a post, CPT or page. For instance while editing a post, you could add a version record to a version table with the post id, user id, addition date, the version date that the user selects and a version number that the user provides. In this case you can record “official” versioning separately from the WP Versioning system.
