Feature request: Ability to exclude/include products of certain categories

    Hi there,

    Great to find this plugin! I think the concept of syncing Zettle with WooCommerce is great, but in my opinion, this plugin needs a little more work in order to truly be useful.

    One immediate thing I think would make a great difference is if it was possible to exclude/include products of certain categories. As far as I understand, and from doing a test, it seems to be all or nothing. I have almost 2000 products, but only need about 150 of them synced with Zettle. Importing them all would be unnecessary and make it hard to manage the Zettle product library.

    Hope you’ll consider adding this functionality and that my feedback is useful.

    thank you for reaching out to us.
    There is actually an option to exclude products from the synchronization, but is has been done on a product level, not on a category level.

    You can find for every product the tab “PayPal Zettle POS” and under this tab there is the checkbox for “Exclude from Sync?”. This should get you the result you want, however, it is done on product level and can’t be done in bulk. You understand that for such a big library this might be a bit of work getting a full category excluded from the synchronization. If you want I can open a feature ticket and see if it can be added in future releases. However, I must tell you that at this moment we do not expect any new features to be added in 2021, so this would be only a possibility for a 2022 release.

    Many thanks for your quick response and for your openness towards the idea.

    Just to mention, I think it would be great if you could pick which categories to include/exclude before the sync so that the Zettle library won’t be filled with products that aren’t being synced anyway. Hope that makes sense.

    yes, good point, it should be an option that you can select before you synchronize, otherwise, you’ll already have had the heavy load instead of avoiding it. Will add this to the feature request.

    I will mark this thread as resolved since there will not be much for us to do here. However, you can still reply to this if there are other points of interest you want to highlight concerning this feature.
