Feature request: advanced search + Google maps attribute
-
Firstly, thank you so much for maintaining this excellent theme!
I would like to request a couple of new features. I realise these may go beyond the basic functionality of a blog website, but I think they would also increase the scope of use for your theme.
The reason I am requesting these functions is because I would like to use your theme for a job listing website. I realise there are many job listing themes available. I have checked them but they are not good. I really love the simplicity and elegance of your theme.
Request 1: Google Maps attribute for each post/page
The attribute would be used to display the currently visible page(s)/post(s) on an embedded map (e.g. via a widget). This would be useful not only for a jobs board, but also for a travel blog etc. Ideally the markers on the map would also be clickable and show basic information such as the post title and categories (see below).
Request 2: Advanced search functionality
I plan to categorize job listings under the following hierarchy (using the wordpress category attribute):
All Locations (top parent category)
-State
–City
etc.All Salaries (top parent category)
-$1000+
-$2000+
etc.All Job Types (top parent category)
-Nursing
-Hotel Staff
etc.Currently it’s possible to select only a single category and display those results. It would be awesome if you could add a dynamic filter, so multiple categories could be selected at the same time via a widget that would update the displayed posts automatically.
A dedicated search page (such as that viewable at “/?s”) featuring the map and category filter described above would also be ideal.
I’m sorry for my large request. If you can do this, I would be happy to send a donation.
