Please add a possibility to delete the .htaccess file in the folder wp-snapshots without ftp access. Today I tried to duplicate a wordpress installation, which ran into an internal server error (didn’t support Options -Indexes). Using version 0.5.2 of your plugin, I had to disable line 196 in classes/utility.php and reupload the plugin.

Greats from Germany and thanks for this great plugin

  • Sounds good will add to the todo list which is very long ??

    Hey LeisureLarry,

I was getting ready to write the logic for this. At what point did you receive the ‘internal server error’? When you went to click the build button or earlier in your workflow…

    Thanks

    Hi lifeinthegrid,

I got this error after building the install files. I tried to download the installer.php and the zip file and got the error (the server didn’t support Options -Indexes).

    Hey LeisureLarry,

Thanks for the details. There is now a new option in the Settings page that will skip writing to the htaccess file. You will have to enable it at install time. The very latest version (0.5.5) has these updates and can be found here:

    -> Browse to https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/
-> Look for the section “Other Versions”
-> Click on “Development Version” and download the zip plugin file

Let me know if this solves your issue…

    Thanks

    Hi lifeinthegrid,

I don’t get how to enable the feature at install time.

I disabled the old version and uninstalled it (including deleting files and settings). After that I copied the content of the zip file to the plugin folder and activated the plugin.

The htaccess file existed and was filled with options -indexes. Going to the settings and checking the option didn’t change that. Why not simply unlink the file in case the option is checked? Wouldn’t this be easier? For example I’m a user and just noticed that I’m affected by the issue. Seeing the option I wouldn’t get how to use it.

    That makes sense!

I was originally anticipating that other directives would be written to it, but in hind-sight that probably won’t be the case. Also it was only updating the .htaccess file after you tried to create the package.

I have updated the logic so that it now unlinks the file when you save the settings. Should be in developer line again…

The htaccess setting works for me.

    Thanks ??

Awesome thanks for your helpful feedback!
