Feature request : duplicate instead of republish

    Hi,

    quick feature request : being able to duplicate posts instead of republish.

    Actually, I would like visitors to be able to post new comments under the post that has been duplicated.

    I can anticipate a problem with a plugin called “Add Link to Facebook” since I need to manually check an option in its panel before publishing the duplicate ..

    What about a little bounty for this one ? ??

    PS: From a SEO point of view, it may be not a good idea, but I’ve doing that manually for a year now and it does not change anything apparently.

    There’s no easy way to do this. If you duplicate the oldest post instead of recycling it, it will always remain the oldest post, and you’d end up duplicating it over and over again.

    So far, I was duplicating manually so I know which is the last.

    The only way I could see it working is by flagging the posts as “already duplicated”. And make as eligible those that are not flagged like this. And you’re still able to duplicate a duplicate because it has not been flagged yet.

    But maybe it’s a bit far-fetched and out of your vision for the plugin.

    A separate function or plugin would be best, maybe toggling a custom meta field to know the post has already been duplicated. Sorry but I do think it’s a bit out of range for the Auto Post Scheduler. Good luck though!
