    Greetings,

Feature Request for an Event block, please? It’s the Date inside the black block that overlays the image that we’re after to make it look professional and to make the date obvious – rather than a date below the image. Sounds silly, but it’s true. Don’t need a full-blown calendar. We’re a small nonprofit community center with only one or two events every month. I’m the only techie in the group, so we can’t work with shortcodes. It needs to be “wysiwyg”. Hoping for an event block that can make an event that looks like the events on the below page. If the event block, or the image, is clickable, we can then link to a regular page we’ve created with a full flyer and more details. Pretty please – ?

    Many thanks,
    Kim

  • Hi Kim,

Most folks use a plugin for Events. One plugin you could consider is Modern Events. See this link for an example of a layout. The plugin is free.

I do volunteer work for nonprofit organizations, so if you need assistance respond below.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Kim,
I also recommend using a plugin for this. Though your certainly welcome to submit a feature request here: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-blocks/feature-requests/

Thanks much to you both. We’ve tried 28 calendar plugins, including the Modern Events Calendar. They’re all too complicated for the existing volunteer staff and all are overkill for our needs. We have only one or two events per month, but we do want our events listing to look professional. We can make an event block using columns, but the staffer who will eventually take over the website finds that method too cumbersome and counter intuitive.

Currently, we’re using “Event Block” by Automattic. The staffer who will be doing the website is able to understand and likes that wysiwyg block, but the block is no longer being developed and so has just a couple of downfalls.

I’ll put in a ‘formal’ request to Kadence. Thanks so much for the link!

    Cheers,
    Kim
