I used the widget to display the 5 most popular posts. However, one of them was sort of an off-topic post from a while ago that I am trying to NOT have as a most popular post. Adding a list of the top 5 posts encourages people to click those and therefore make/keep them as the most popular. To this point, I’d like to request excluding posts from showing up in the widget. For example: show the top 5 posts excluding post ID 722 and 820 –> which would really be pulling the top 7 posts and excluding post 722 and post 820.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Thanks.

Your request makes sense and is valid. I’ll look into implementing this in the coming patches. Do you think having a check box for each post (say in the “Quick Edit” or sidebar of a post) that would mark the post OK to list in the widget is a viable solution?

    Cool. Thanks.

Sounds good to me for site-wide control. However, implementing two text boxes per widget would be a good override too because maybe I want Widget1 to display content only to logged-in users, well I might want the 5 most popular posts of 2,100,824,844,3822,2909,294,110,2983 and exclude none. Or I might want the top 5 posts excluding 1,11,17.

Also, per-widget ability to include/exclude category-specific, tag-specific, etc. Sort of like Ultimate Tag Cloud Widget.

Hope that feedback helps make it more robust/flexible.

    Thanks!
