  • My favourite plugin to obfuscate email is Graceful Email Obfuscation, and it has a fallback for users with no JavaScript.

    The post is pretty old…
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-connections-hide-email-addresses

The email address can be encrypted while still be human readable and still work as mailto links without resorting to separated text:
    https://connections-pro.com/add-on/rot13-email-encryption/

The email address are rendered on page obfuscated via ROT13 encrypted and decrypted via javascript client side. If the user has blocked javascript there is a CSS fallback. The net results, at no time is the email available in plain text.

Also, email can be completely removed from the entry regardless of the visibility setting when adding an email while allowing the user to still contact them direct thru a web form:
    https://connections-pro.com/add-on/contact/

You can use either one depending on your exact needs.

    Hope that helps!

BTW, in the Bio Entry Card where will be displayed the contact form of Contact addon?
It is in the same view, or it is a link to it in the place of email?

It will be shown after the bio; before the categories when you click thru to the single entry. It will not be shown when viewing the list of entries.

    Hope that makes sense.

Well… we have some people that plans to add a lot of bio (they are scientists), so it will be a bit hidden (at bottom)

Maybe you can add an anchor link to it in the place where it is shown the email (up at right… instead the email, as it must not be showed)… something like “Contact form”… whatever… so people will see a contact link, and will be redirected to it (in the same page at bottom)

It should be unique, the anchor link, maybe someone is using that template in All

I do already have something like this as a feature request from another user. What I may add is an entry action link … the links that show above the entry. That would jump to the Contact form.

Mmmm, but that will not work if someone is using the BioEntryCard template in All (the directory index?)

Or maybe the contact form is not showed in that situation?

    @ luuuciano

No, the contact form is not presently shown in that context; only on the individual entry page.

Well, that will work better (it is better than not having it)
