• Hello,

It would be awesome if we had the ability to set up different meta templates based on specific page templates rather than having one meta template apply to ALL pages.

For example, our site has a large number of “general” pages, as well as “local” pages.

I’d like the meta title template for local pages to be something like “[city] Home Tutoring Services – Tutors In [city] [state]” which can be easily achieved using Yoast’s custom field dynamic insertion (thank you!)

But something like that wouldn’t make sense for our more general pages that don’t have any of that local data associated with them. So for those pages, it would be great to set up a different template.

Any chance of something like this being implemented into a future release?

    Thanks!

When you have a large number of related pages, it might be time to look into moving those pages into a custom post type. This will move them out of the default page and be treated as their own type so you can apply a different title template.

Here’s a great article on how to create custom post types: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-custom-post-types-in-wordpress/

If I had possessed any foresight when building out our site structure initially, I might have thought to break out our pages into custom post types a long time ago ??

I’ll look into this, thank you! Hopefully there’s a relatively easy way to move pages from one post type to another.
