Would be nice to have an email alert when the UPS API plugin is not connected. This will alert store owners from shipping issues and don’t loose orders.

    Thank you.

    Hi @danidub,

The API should always be connected. If not, there must be some problem to solve.
If the API doesn’t return rates, you can always use the fallback rate: https://octolize.com/docs/article/ups-ups-live-rates-shipping-method-configuration/#fallback

Hello @grola the API is disconnecting randomly. This is also stated by other members, please see tickets:

So would be nice to have a way to know this. A simple email alert is easy to implement and would add value to your plugin and service.

Or if you have a way or idea on how to implement this I can help you, maybe have a hook that calls the API and return the status would be nice. Then any developer can “hook” and check the status.

We can’t use a “Fallback” cost because each order weights differently and worldwide rates are really difficult to join in a unique “Fallback” cost.

    Thank you.

    Hi @danidub,

please enable debug mode in UPS settings and connect to API again. If the API connection is disconnected, please paste the logs related to the token here (available in WooCommerce->Status->Logs)

    Best regards

Hi @danidub, do you have any cache plugin. If so, which one?

    (@danidub)

    Hello, we use WP-Rocket.

The plugin now seems to maintain the connection. But this caused us to lost many orders as we didn’t know that the connection was lost.

We need a way to know when the connection is lost to reconnect and don’t loose orders. Going manually every day to check the connection status is not viable.

    Thank you.

    Hi @danidub,

Have you had any issues with the API connection dropping since the last post?

    Hi @grola

The plugin seems to be connected. As I said before:

This caused us to loose many orders as we didn’t know that the connection was lost.

We are checking manually day after day. So having a simple email notification to let us know when the connection is broken is a MUST here.

    Thank you.

@danidub, did you experience any connection drops in version 3.1.0?

We didn’t get any response, so I’m changing the thread status to resolved for now.
