• Title says it all. I have a plugin who’s settings page is unreadable in dark mode. It sure would be handy to have an on/off switch for dark mode right on the admin bar instead of going to plugins to temporarily deactivate it.

    Hi @jhnpldng ,

First of all, thanks for your kind review!

I will think about this option. For now, which plugin is causing this issue, maybe I can support the plugin?

    Kind regards

Please consider this an upvote for this feature suggestion.

There are different settings when I would like to quickly turn on (or off) dark mode. Drilling into the profile to find the switch is inconvenient.

    Hi @jhnpldng and @three_star_dave ,

The toolbar toggle should be added in the next update ?? Let me know if you have any improvements!

    hi, @naiches

admin top toolbar toggle button nice idea, but the button doesn’t need “Dark Mode Toggle” text, just a “??” (lamp icon). the text is too long it fills the whole toolbar so other icons disappear. Better to have single icon button on top toolbar. otherwise it’s useless and annoying. I hope you will consider my suggestion. In this way, it becomes more useful and functional.

    thx.

I’m not as concerned with the space taken as @novayear but I agree just a light bulb would be more elegant (esp. with hover text).

That said, the toolbar toggle itself is functionally just what I was looking for — thanks!

    Hi @novayear , @three_star_dave ,

Changed it to only the light bulb icon. Will be changed in te next update ??

To help the plugin, feel free to leave a review ??

    Thanks!

One more thought on this …

The admin bar toggle shows up when the blog proper, not just an admin screen, is up. Since the dark mode plugin doesn’t affect the blog, the light bulb should probably be suppressed (if possible), e.g., when the URL doesn’t have /wp-admin/ in it.

(Actually, looking at it again, the light bulb is not showing up with the actual blog, but the text “Dark Mode Toggle” does.)

Not critical by any means, just tidying up.
