Feature Request: Product name label override for product group ID/name

    Product Group functionality:

    It would make a huge difference to have an option to label product on top of their actual name that would be displayed instead of product name. There is no meaningful way to explain to the customer what add-on item does if all of them do something else or have a different purpose. I could try putting a paragraph above or below the Product Group or using help text but this would be a huge amount of text(which no one reads). This could be resolved just by replacing the title of the item with extra label inside the product group.

    It would be additional form added to the group.

    Item ID | Label* | Price*

    * is optional here

    My reasoning behind all of this would be that label could explain the purpose of the add-on item whilst the actual product could be listed in the basket freely after without a silly name made for this particular purpose (name that is explaining why is it there).
    It would be especially helpful for people using stock keeping software integrations. Tracking quantity per order invoice/item would not be affected and the product name in the basket would still make sense.

    We will consider the label should be optional in our next update.

    You can manage the stock using the product group. It automatically decreases the stock.

    If you want to track quantity per order you can enable the settings “Independent Products” It will add the product to the cart independently

    This is exactly the issue I am facing.
    I love “Independent Product” but if I use this feature the customer cart is going to look very illegible.

    For example (order invoice):

    2 × Mens Hoodie Black (￡39.99)
1 × with black finish (￡2.99)
1 × with black aglets (￡0.99)
1 × with pocket (￡3.99)

    Instead of:

    2 × Mens Hoodie Black (￡39.99)
1 × Hoodie Black Finish (￡2.99)
1 × Black aglets (×2) (￡0.99)
1 × Hoodie Extra sewn pocket (￡3.99)

    The label would definitely solve this and make the order look more professional.
    Having a different label on product add-on just on a product page that is different from an actual product name gives more control over the user behaviour and will contribute to sales.
