[Feature Request] Send order cancellation email to customer

This suggestion has been considered and rejected by one of the main WooCommerce devs:

You can ask again by raising a new issue in the same place. There’s already a large number of issues.

WooCommerce do a premium plugin for this:

so you’ll probably not see the feature in the core plugin.

Then there’s this free plugin:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/send-email-to-customer-on-cancelled-order-in-woocommerce/
Its not been updated in a while, but I just tried it and it works fine. No settings, just cancel the order on the order page and the email is sent to the customer.

You could use something like Zapier, Make or n8n to automate this.

I use n8n, and their WooCommerce Trigger node will let you, for example, fire off an email when an order is updated: https://docs.n8n.io/integrations/builtin/trigger-nodes/n8n-nodes-base.woocommercetrigger/

I use the self-hosted version of n8n this, but you can try the free Zapier or Make tiers too.

And try any third party plugin like @lorro suggested above.
