    Hi there,
like your Tablepress plugin. I would like to request a feature (as a plugin extention)and I am happy to pay for it via Generous donation (in advance).

    Description:
    ————
Within the WP Admin / Tablepress / “Table Information” panel there is a “Table Name” input field (To give your table a name).

    Feature request:
    —————-
Next to the “Table Name” input field I would like:

    1) An “Insert Link” button (option) to create a ‘linkable’ table name. IE: to browse and link to existing wordpress pages. (Like you have in the “Table Manipulation” options “Insert Link”.)

In the front end the “Table Name” would display the chosen page title and link to the relevant page.

Obviously, one could just create a <a href="some wordpress page">some wordpress page</a> link in the “Table Name” input field. But my client would find this very challenging.

Is this something you would be interested in doing?

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m not really sure what you mean here, or better what the benefits are. Why is putting the HTML code for a link into the table name or description field not an option?

For that, you could also use the “Insert Link” button, which adds the HTML to an arbitrary cell in your table. From there, just copy/paste it into the table name or description field.

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,
thanks for getting back to me. Sure I get your points :-).

I am currently hiding the “Table manipulation” options from my client to restrict the type of Table they can create.

My client can ONLY create a new table via the “copy” function available under the “All Tables” table row actions.

I’m just making things as simple as possible for my client.

Is this something you can do?

    Hi,

    ok, I see…

I’d love to help, of course, but I’m not sure if I can come up with a solution here ?? The thing is that extending the “Edit” screen is very difficult, at the moment. There are just no easy ways to use or add plugin filter hooks that could be used for a TablePress Extension here ??

Another thought that I had: Maybe, instead of adding the link to the table name, the link could simply be added (via the regular content editor) to the post/page that also holds the Shortcode for the table?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

oh, and I will of course try to make the “Edit” screen more extendable in the future.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
