Feature request: tags for events, and a 'display by tag' widget

    Hi again,

    I would like to ask for a feature in future updates:
    The ability to add tags to events, and then have a widget that displays only events that have specific tags.

    What is this good for?
    Let’s say I have a calendar that shows all the concerts in my city.

    A user can, today, see what concerts are up in the next month, but if she wants to search when the next performance of ‘Metallica’ is, she can’t do that.

    In my actual website, I would also have a page for each band. So if a user clicks on the ‘Metallica’ page, he would also want to see when are all their next concerts…

    If there was an ability to put tags on events, and add widgets that display events according to tags, then that would have been possible.

    What do you think?

    Categories are not good enough for this, because they are needed for bigger things:
    ‘Rock Concert’
    ‘Pop Concert’

    , and also because there can be many many bands (or shows, or whatever it is in the specific calendar), and I wouldn’t want to create a category, and a color, for each one.

    We actually have similar plugin called Event Calendar WD, where you can have tags, categories and even venues and organizers. You might try checking that out. Thank you.

    But I already have the other calendar… and paid for it. Would I need to reinput all the events into the new one?

    I don’t really understand why you have two different ones?

    @ilanfl,

    These are two different types of calendars- one is for event management, this one is for simply display of the events, thus we have tags, venues in Event Calendar WD. This is for simple display of events not for event filtering or management.
