Feature requests: triggers & custom fields

  • I’m sure you guys are prioritizing the Engage plugin now, but I thought I’d ask just in case.

    Is there any way to add a feature that would allow us to select one of our Salsa Autoresponse emails (triggers) that would get sent out when a form is submitted? We used SalsaPress (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/salsa-press/) on an old site and loved having this. Gravity has such limitations when it comes to notifications, especially if you have multiple forms.

    It would also be great to get our custom fields to be mappable…

    We’re actually making a change to the plugin to see whether it can populate more than 500 groups at a time next week. I’ll have Ben take a look into what our options are for adding Salsa autoresponders and mapping to custom fields while he’s taking a look, and report back.

    @craftee123 Hi again! I got an answer quicker than expected.

    Unfortunately, it’s mostly no, we can’t do that natively in the plugin and we don’t have plans to add it.

    The workaround our devs recommended is to (1) create a form in GF that adds users to a group; and then (2) setup that group to send a trigger upon joining the group (https://www.screencast.com/t/88UsWU9qtDZo).

    That should do it. It’s an extra step you when setting up the Group, but it works well.

    Alternatively, they recommended add-ons to make Gravity Forms’ notifications/autoresponders better, including ones to create more robust emails, and integrations with SendGrid, Postmark, and Mailgun. That’s the recommended route right now. Please let us know if you have additional questions about that.
