Feature Suggestion: Max Size for Images

    Hello,
    reSmush.it plugin works perfectly and it’s the best image optimize plugin I have ever used. I tried all and I can say it’s best on compressing and keeping quality.

    I was thinking to having maximum image size limit for the reason of unaware clients or raw sources directly from some digital cameras etc. Sometimes client or designer needs to upload tons of raw images. They are around 5K or 6K pixel size.
    So, it can be really helpful to have some proportinal maximum size limit and also suggestions list for web safe images. 800px for high compress and minimu size, 1200px for optimum and 2K for HQ and so on. It would be really helpful for people who doesn’t have that much technical background and also it can make websites faster, so it can come back to you as good feedback at the end ??

    Thanks for this great feedback ??
    I think if you want to impose a limitation on uploading the pictures, it should not be located in the resmush.it plugin, but rather in the WP admin interface.

    If you want to avoid your final users to uplaod very big pictures, several ways :
    – use the PHP max_upload_filesize instruction and set it to, let’s say 2MB
    – place some code in your WP such as https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/228300/set-limit-to-media-upload

    For further explanations to your final user, it would require to override some WP core templates. Maybe a good Instruction Manual should be enough ?? ?
