Featured articles missing on front page

    I wanted to have summaries of my posts on my front page instead of full length articles. So I went to Settings > Reading > And selected For each article in a feed show SUMMARY. It didn’t work. Not only did it not work, it took my featured article text off the front page.

    I went to “edit post” of my featured article, clicked screen options, checked excerpt, and put an excerpt in the box. Still no dice. The featured text is not on my front page anymore and the excerpt isn’t. So I said okay forget it. I undid my changes. I deleted the excerpt. I changed the reading setting from SUMMARY to FULL TEXT. I revisit my homepage, there is still no featured article text on my home page.
