Featured Content Slider in Twenty Eleven theme

  • Can someone please give me a clear explanation of the settings/arguments, etc. necessary to get this functionality on a Showcase page?

    I had two posts marked as Sticky, and several, for arguments sake make it five, posts with the Featured Content box checked. In this situation, only the Sticky posts showed up in the Slider.

    Then I un-stuck the Sticky ones, made sure the posts I picked as Featured indeed had the box checked, and now my Showcase static Home Page has no slider at all. What am I doing wrong, or what do I need to be doing that I’m not?

  • This is how it’s supposed to work.

    1. In Dashboard: Settings > Reading set one static page
    2. Give that page the Showcase template
    3. Make post Sticky to make them appear in the showcase template

    So you need sticky posts to have a slider.
