featured course plugin has been removed

I used the featured post plugin to add the most current course in the front homepage, but after the update, this plugin/widget has been removed. I am not sure why this was done but I am trying to find out what is the best way for me to add couple of courses (maybe a particular category like current courses)from learnpress. The word press category plugin does not recognize the course categories through learnpress.
